Lecture Title: New Technology Opportunities for Construction:
the Case of 3D Printing
Professor Skibniewski holds civil engineering degrees from Warsaw University of Technology and from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Maryland, and a former Professor at Purdue University.
Professor Skibniewski is a past President of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC) and a former recipient of IAARC’s Tucker-Hasegawa Award. Since 1994, he has been serving as Editor-in-Chief of Automation in Construction (AUTCON), an international research journal published by Elsevier. AUTCON is the official journal of IAARC, featuring special issues with expanded and refereed versions of best papers presented in the proceedings of the annual International Symposia for Autiomation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC).

Dr. Dongping FANG is a Professor at Tsinghua University, China. He is the chair of School of Civil Engineering and the executive director of Institute of Future Cities and Infrastructures.

Professor Min-Yuan Cheng, a distinguished professor of Civil and Construction Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech), received his BS in Civil Engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan in 1984, and his MS and PhD in Construction Engineering & Project Management from University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and 1992, respectively. Cheng started his academic career from Taiwan Tech since 1993. Prof. Cheng's research interests include Geographic Information System, Construction Automation, Management Information System, Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Construction Management Process Reengineering. Cheng also has conducted many funded research projects and received 7 domestic patents and 1 U.S. patent. Moreover, he has published 1 books, more than 160 journal papers and 170 conferences papers in major journals and conferences, and numerous journal papers in processing. Especially, Cheng has received more than 40 honorary awards for his achievements in domestic and international. Prof. Cheng also received the highest award, the Outstanding Engineering Professors Award of Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2016.
